Less thinking. More noticing.

A lot of the guys I work with are doing “fine” on the outside — capable, thoughtful, showing up for work and life. But internally something feels off. Anxious. Flat. Disconnected. Or just hard to put into words. I became a therapist because I’ve seen how easy it is, especially as a man, to lose touch with your inner world without realizing it’s happening.

After graduating from the University of Virginia, I moved west to California, where I worked trail maintenance, supported nonprofits, and spent a lot of time hiking and camping. Life slowed down in a good way. Those years taught me something simple but important: real change usually doesn’t come from overanalyzing yourself. It comes from learning to pay attention to what’s happening inside with curiosity and honesty.

My approach

Collaborative, grounded, and practical. I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), parts work, and compassion-focused therapy. In plain terms: we focus less on getting rid of thoughts or emotions and more on changing how you relate to them. Sessions often include mindfulness, body-based awareness, and noticing patterns without judgment. The goal isn’t to fix you — it’s to help you feel more at home in your own mind and body.

Who I work best with

  • Young adults navigating anxiety, low mood, or identity questions
  • Professionals struggling with stress, burnout, and the demands of life
  • Men who feel disconnected from their emotions or bodies
  • People who live mostly in their heads and want to feel more grounded
  • Clients who value honesty, introspection, and collaborative change

The clinical part — and the rest

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with a master’s in Couples and Family Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional disconnection, and related concerns.

Outside of sessions I’m happiest outdoors — hiking, camping, or birdwatching. I follow Liverpool, the Steelers, and UVA athletics, and I have a soft spot for folk music that reminds me of growing up in the Shenandoah Valley.

Let’s get started
